Bovec is a simple town but it is surrounded by  natural beauty. Bovec is known for it’s hiking trails and water sports! I highly recommend making at least a one night stop in Bovec to enjoy the fresh air and the stunning blue river.

We stayed at Apartment Wallas during our stay in Bovec. The apartment had the most beautiful location. The landscape looked similar to Austria with beautiful views of mountains, farm animals, and gardens. The views from this place were quite stunning!

The apartment itself is large with a full kitchen, living room, and upstairs! The decor is modern and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay here and wish it could have lasted longer! I highly recommend Apartment Wallas! I linked Apartment Wallas above so you can book your stay with them.

Best Places to Eat & Drink in Bovec

Bovec is no tourist town by any means! This means authentic reasonably priced Slovenian food! These are always my favorite kind of restaurants because you will be eating with locals!

Bovec was part of our full Balkans tour we took in September 2018. During our Balkans Vacation we went to Croatia, Bosnia, Venice, and Slovenia.

Gostisce Hedvika was my favorite restaurant out of all the places we went to. This was truly an authentic Slovenian meal. We got large sea food platters to share with each other. The platter included grilled and fried calamari, freshly caught grilled trout, veggies, and butter! The drinks were also very cheap so we enjoyed some beer and wine! The total was very cheap for what we ordered. I highly recommend going to Gistuce Hedvika!

Felix is a great little place for breakfast or lunch. Many people come to Felix’s after a day of rafting to get a big juicy burger! They are also known for having very reasonable prices

Crna Ovca is one of the only Sports Bars in Bovec or real night life! This is a great place to meet people and have a good time. They are known for cheap prices and a friendly wait staff.

Things To Do in Bovec

Bovec is all about nature and some physical activities. Bovec is the outdoorsy type’s dream! If you aren’t into the whole physical activities thing, don’t worry there’s plenty of sight seeing to do.
